Classroom Setup
Building the Classroom
The classroom will begin with blank walls and will gradually glow of student learning throughout the year. The space shared with students is meant to create a sense of community and build strong, positive relationships. I will arrange the space in a visually pleasing way that promotes student morale and learning. I will introduce new materials and equipment throughout the year to accommodate the growth and learning needs of each child. Utilizing natural and soft lighting will alleviate from using the fluorescents all day and add to the calming experience in the classroom. I will be documenting student work by hanging it intentionally on the walls, in the hallway to showcase all student work, and give students creative ownership in the classroom.
Future Additions to the Classroom
Since I am new to the school, throughout the school year there may be additions to the classroom including some alternative seating, natural materials, technology, literature and necessary classroom supplies for instruction, documentation, and assessment.
